Keele among joint-firsts in CRC League

Keele University was among the 22 organisations that topped the first ever government Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) league tables announced in November 2011.

Launched in April 2010, CRC is a mandatory government scheme to enhance energy efficiency and emissions reduction in large public and private sector organisations. This league table ranked the participants in terms of their early action on energy management.

Among the 2013 organisations ranked, six other universities were within the first 100: University of Bath (rank 30), University of Essex (34), Open University (48), University of Central Lancashire (54), Manchester Metropolitan University (59) and University of Birmingham (73). Twenty-three universities, along with 779 other organisations, ranked joint last.
