The two countries and a region – the UK, the US and the world – passed milestones while encouraging the second wave in the battle against coronavirus.

The UK, Boris Johnson

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson encouraged Britons to go work a month ago. Now, all he had to say is, work from home if you can. It is the ferociousness of Covid-19 as well as the signs of its second wave of coronavirus.

Households meetings in parts of North East England had been banned while London is added to the lockdown “watch list”. In England, for example, the rule of six come into play where a maximum number of six people can meet as a group.

The UK is at a “tipping point,” said Health Secretary Matt Hancock. If the virus is not brought under control, the national coronavirus lockdown may be necessary, he said, including a maximum fine of £10,000 for those who do not self-isolate when told to do so.

In England from Wednesday, pubs and restaurants closed at 10pm for eat-in and take out while taking delivery orders only. This method was not welcomed by many as the virus had no time limit to pass on to the others. Ejecting people at a particular time (at 10pm) will cause transport issues. Moreover, they will be socialising in other places, such as homes.

The US, Donald Trump

In the US, 200,000 people died from Covid-19 and President Donald Trump said that it was a shame. It is the fifth of a global figure and it is increasing day by day with over 7 million cases of coronavirus.

The US has a high death toll among health workers because of many reasons and one is the shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). For example, when it comes to healthcare workers, over 1000 died while infecting the virus on the job.

The world, Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus

The World Health Organization (WHO) warned that two million deaths are possible even with a Covid-19 is discovered. The figure could be higher if there is no concerted action of the world nations. This comes when the total deaths of the world surpassed one million.

Meanwhile, on 18 of September, its Director-General Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus shared on Twitter the essentials of Covid-19 tactics.

“For people also, we ask you to continue to do the basics.

• Physical distancing
• Hand washing
• Wear a mask
• Coughing & sneezing safely away from others
• Avoiding crowds
• Keeping windows & doors open when you can’t meet friends and family outside.

Do it all!”

People are not doing it and that is the problem. Many get infected with Covid-19 so “Do it all!” matters.

The US, Brazil and India lead

Around the world, there are over 33 million Covid-19 cases with one million deaths. The countries with the highest death toll are 209,000 in the US, 142,000 in Brazil and 96,000 in India while the UK had 42,000 deaths.

When Covid-19 pandemic would end is unsure, even if the finding of the coronavirus vaccine. But it is our only hope whether we are living in the UK, the US or the rest of the world.
