To everybody of 8 billion people on this planet, climate crisis is the biggest issue, so it is a global dispute. But, how to solve climate change? Especially the solutions of adaptation and, to a lesser extent, of mitigation is local.
That is why, NASA website says, “While climate change is a global issue, it is felt on a local scale. Local governments are therefore at the frontline of adaptation.”
Consider the local councils across England and Wales. A poll by The Local Government Association (LGA) and YouGov states that only just 5 per cent of the public feel prepared for the impacts of climate change while 63 per cent are worried about climate change. So, the LGA is calling for the Autumn Statement (i.e., an update on the government’s economic plans) with rapid acceleration in the work to get ready for the escalating impacts of climate change.
In this survey, the total sample size was 2,112 adults with fieldwork undertaken between 1st – 2nd November 2023. The survey was carried out online.
Think global. Act local.

Wow, with all the extreme weather and reports, I would have thought this percentage would be much higher.
